Privacy policy.

Captures are made and processed on your Mac. Gamendori writes each one as a PNG file to your Desktop and puts it on the clipboard. The findings scan, text recognition and face detection run on this Mac through Apple's own frameworks. Gamendori sends no capture, no screen content and no recognized text anywhere.

macOS features you control can still carry what Gamendori wrote. If your Desktop syncs to iCloud Drive, or Universal Clipboard is on, macOS moves those files and that clipboard to your other devices. Gamendori does not turn those features on or off.

Your settings, such as shortcuts, appearance, annotation colors and the last area you captured, are kept in the app's macOS preferences.

A list of recent captures is kept in a file under Application Support, in a Gamendori folder. For each capture it holds the file's location, the kind of capture, its size in pixels and the time it was taken, and it keeps the most recent 50. It holds no image.

Your license record is kept in your login Keychain: when the trial started, the latest date the app has seen, and, once you activate, your license key, the activation ID Lemon Squeezy gave this Mac, and Lemon Squeezy's latest answer about the license.

When you drag an edited capture out of the editor, Gamendori writes that image to a temporary folder on this Mac so the app you drop it on can read it. It keeps the file for a day, then removes it the next time it sweeps that folder while the app is running.

When you open an image file from the clipboard, Gamendori tries first to make a copy of it in a temporary folder on the same disk, so the file cannot change while it is read. Where the disk cannot make that kind of copy, it reads the original instead. It deletes the copy once the read is done and tries again later if the deletion fails, so a copy can be left behind for a while, and for good if the app stops unexpectedly before it is deleted.

The app writes diagnostic lines, such as a capture's file name, to the macOS system log on this Mac. Gamendori does not send them anywhere.

Gamendori checks for updates, downloads them, and manages a license. Those are the only things it uses the network for, and every one of those requests, like any request on the internet, shows your IP address to the server that answers it.

Update checks. The app asks for its update feed at https://gamendori.com/appcast.xml. The request names the app and its version, and the version of Sparkle, the updater it uses. It carries nothing about your Mac: Sparkle's system profile reporting is off. Automatic checks are on by default, and Settings has a switch to turn them off and a button to check now. By default an update is offered, not installed: it waits for you to confirm it. Sparkle's update window also lets you choose to install future updates automatically. The disk image comes from the address the feed names, which is on gamendori.com.

Licensing. During the trial the app sends nothing about a license. When you activate a key, the app sends the key to Lemon Squeezy's license service at api.lemonsqueezy.com to check it belongs to Gamendori, then sends the key again with this Mac's name, as set in System Settings, and Lemon Squeezy answers with an activation ID for this Mac. While a license is on file, the app confirms it at launch, every 24 hours while it runs, and when you open the License window, sending the key and the activation ID. Deactivating this Mac sends the same two, so the seat is freed.

Nothing else. No analytics or crash reporting package is built into the app, and there is no account to sign in to. The Buy buttons in the app open gamendori.com/buy in your browser.

gamendori.com is hosted on Vercel, which receives each request the way any web host does. The site counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies. For each page view it may record the time, the page and its address, the referring page, filtered query parameters, a location down to the city, the operating system, the browser, and the type of device. Visitors are told apart by a hash made from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours. A visit to the download page is how the site counts download attempts.

The site sets no cookies of its own and shows no advertising.

Buy for $30 opens gamendori.com/buy, which forwards you to a checkout run by Lemon Squeezy. The checkout asks for your email address, the cardholder's name, a billing address, card or PayPal payment details, and, if you want, a tax ID. Lemon Squeezy processes the payment, emails your receipt and license key, and handles those details under its own privacy policy. We receive the order from Lemon Squeezy, including your name and email address, so we can help with your license. We never receive your full card number.
